The Jalandhar Cant railway station was half broken....

The train then halted at a remote village called Adampur (Khurdpur railway station)
It was at that time someone told that there is a curfew in almost all areas of Punjab....I thought it would get over soon and the train would resume its journey in sometime. I thought I would reach Hoshiarpur very soon as it was only 21 kms from Adampur..

But to my dismay, the passengers waited from morning 8 to 2 p.m for the train to make any movement. Some of the passengers had their relatives and hence went with them. While I, along with 50 more passengers were left with no option but to wait...

Even I stepped out of the train.to go outside the platform and get something to eat and drink...but jaise hi bahaar jaate the...there were some ppl in 2 wheelers with Lathis nd Swords....running around......nd so we ran back to the platform....

The coaaches of some trains were also burnt in Jalandhar...so we did not consider us safe inside the platform too...

Fortunately , the people of the village came to help us out..They provided us water, tea and food ( The entire village shops were closed...so we had no other option to eat nd drink)

After 2 p.m, they sent us to Gurdwara which is the safest place to stay...We were transported from station to Gurdwara by Tractor Trolley ( Yes..it was my 1st ride in the tractor)

They made food arrangements here too...nd we were taking rest in the carpet....

Since 2 p.m yesterday (25th), we are still in the same Gurdwara....waiting for the situation to improve.....longing to reach home :(

nd finally the moment has come....

finally pahunch gaya....company vaale aa gaye lene...

in their company's car ( Sonalika Rhino Rx- yes m trying to publicize it....entered into MUV venture recently;) )

total 13 ppl sat in this 8 seater MUV along with luggages....including 2 ppl from the police forces...there were showrooms nd petrol pumps all broken !!

was quite an adventure indeed !!
MDI-GT/PI EXPERIENCE

My gt/pi experience.13th march,gurgaon
Guys, this is my last call of the season…and the only hope for me..though not much chances with a score of just 94.23%ile

Gt-as already said, we were given some pencil rubber paper, pins, matchbox etc
Predicted-15 items
Made-23 items
Accepted-18 items
So a decent performance by the group of 8(1 was absent)

Interview- I was the 3rd one to go

The panel was trying to take a stress interview, will object you on every sentence

p-how was the group task?
Me-enjoyed a lot..lots of ppl coming up with good ideas..and the best part was that we were successful in making items more than we predicted

p-it means u were underestimating yourselves..or were fearful
me-madam, we wanted to set some realistic target..and as the company beats the market expectations in financial resuls, so did we.we beat our own expectations..adding to that I was aware of my potential..but not of the whole group..and once we started making products, we thought that the group has more potential

p-so why hr?
me-told bout attrition rates figures globally and in india, increasing workforce, maintaing them, future is going to be war of talent..+ that there r very few ppl opting for hr and very few good b- schools offer specialization in HR

p-like?
Me-xlri,tiss,scmhrd,mdi

p-also imi and imt offer that
me-I was not aware of it

p-why hr after engineering?
Me—told bout my inerest to go into manufacturing sector(btw I m an electrical engineering fresher)like abb and l&t..there the recruiter or the hr person should know what the company wants and what the prospective employee should be like
Told that the reason for attrition is that the candidate feels that he is more capabe of doing something better than this kind of job profile…so that’s a challenge hr manager is facing

p-hr is being outsourced..so less scope?
me-said hr managers are still required and ppl are ignoing it coz of the more glossy field of finance or marketing..so there is supply demand mismatch…nd also I m capable to be selected in a good company even if requirement is less

p-2 saal mein aisa kya sikhaa denge ki hr ki duniya palat doge?
Me-told that I had a talk with mdi seniors ..they r already working in their 2nd live project during course..so lots to learn…and the change can take place once I enter into the profession..only then I can comment on that.no reaction from panel)

p-u like reading?
Me-yes..both fiction n non fiction

p-ur top 3-4 novels
me-google stor ,made in America, lee Iacocca, games people play

p-ur fav?
Me-google story

p-why?
Me—inspiring, innovative ideas…blah blah

p-name some top companies with good hr policies
me-according to ET 500, TCS, bharati and P&G wre the top 3 companiess

said a quote from P&G’s president-If u take away all buildings and money and leave only our employees, we can build the entire ystem in a decade, but if u take away our people, we cannont build thae system again in lifetime

that’s all..thank you

was good enuf I guess, wat say??…but mere cat score ka kya karun!!!!heard they give a lot of weightage to it
another PJ...

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always
getting into trouble and their parents know all about it. If any mischief
occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in
disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The
preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent
the 8 year old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the
preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and
asked him sternly, Do you know where God is, son?

The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there
wide-eyed with his mouth
hanging open.

So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, Where is
God?!

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice
even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, Where is
God?!

The boy screamed , ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the
door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked,
what happened?

The younger brother, gasping f or breath, replied, We are in BIG trouble
this time.

(I just LOVE reading next line again and again)

scroll down

.........

...

.........

....

.......

.........

................

........................... ........

GOD is missing, and they think we did it!

Companies and their punchlines

MRF - Tyres with Muscle

CEAT - Born Tough

EBAY - The World's Online Market Place

AMAZON.COM - Earth's Biggest BookStore

TIMESJOBS.COM - If you have a reason, we have the job -

BLOGGER.COM - Push Button Publishing

Microsoft - Where Do You Want to Go Today ; Your Potential Our Passion

Windows XP - Do More with Less

HP-Invent - Everything is Possible

Accenture - High Performance.
